oh no for once in my life i have two places of employment - both of which i enjoy very much - actually the best jobs i've had. Uni starts in a month's time and i will have to quit one (or both). oh what to do. perhaps the answer to that is to take intermission from uni.

| 1 day to go |
[08 Jan 2005|12:11am] |
One more day before I'm on a plane to England. Everything's a frantic mess at the moment. Just trying to get all my last minute stuff together. But apart from that i'm quite excited. I caught myself the other day watching this god awful reality TV show Airport. And found Emirates inflight magazine a home you know just to brush up on my Arabic.

Whee Big Day Out last monday. yes. emily has a lovely little review. the day was pretty good apart from paying $100 for it. and have no reception on my phone all day. and forgetting my ticket till about halfway to the city on the freeway. Rocket Science were great but not as i'd hoped. i wanted for jumping around on stage, the drummer's nuts though. QOTSA were bit of a disappointment, they played 2 songs off Rate R. and there was this frustrating time before QOTSA where i was in the D and i saw the people i'd been searching for all day peeping over the railing. i run over only to be stopped by security. augh. and i now have my very first souvenir festival tshirt. honestly they looked better in the dark. they really look fake. but they were going for cheap 2 for $30. i split with Liam and we walked back to his place. the walk wasn't as agonising as i remembered it to be. i used to do it every year going/coming back from the show, showbags cutting into fingers, packed drinks and lunch. and mum always got those damned yellow brick road bags and you would have to walk all around the showgrounds looking at the ground all day. i am honestly scared of Liam dad. Year 11 leaves a lot of time for wagging. but the city totally bores me now. there isn't that much left to wander unless i wander myself into buying toasted forcaccias. again. Melbourne Central is totally dead. that cheap pastry place closed so now i can't buy $1.70 garlic fizzles. these fizzles were so fucking HUGE they could feed a third world village.
Happy Chinese New Year (of the Goat) Lucky money count so far: $5

Friday 20 September 2002 11:56pm All My Life - FOO FIGHTERS BMG 12:00am Run - PACIFIER Warner Envy - ASH Fest/Mush Exit To The City - THE D4 Fest/Mush
that's me in the bold wedged between the Foo Fighters and Ash. 12:00 am. be watching Rage. if any of you are still netting at this god forbidding hour. i'm taping it all down.
work experience has been reall cool. i get to design a mega poster for a Michael Jackson dance off. the people are being real nice and are thinking of using my shitty attempt. they also got me to do masking (which i've got no clue about) on a All Star cafe poster thing. i've also done the front cover of my zine. which is going to be called Box Factory Excursion. don't box factories amuse you? but it's looking real messy at the moment. i went a little over board with all the layers and bit and pieces. It's been fun. i haven't made one cup of coffee yet.

i will never understand the on going popularity and cultural influence of Frank Zappa. i guess it's one of those "you had to be there" situations.

It was Rox and Kaz's birthday thing on Friday. had dinner down Lygon St. Nice pizza. They had nice waiters who leaned on poles whole taking your order. we embarassed them nicely by singing happy birthday really loudly. and caught the train home and i didn't get raped one bit. and I got to meet Steph's boyfriend. he does look kinda old. he has side burns like a hobbit! side burns boy catches another carriage now. carriage slut. Nisha will be moving in a month or so. i'll have no one to sit silently with in the mornings. I won't be able to discuss metal-man or connex-commies with anyone. or i could just catch the 3rd carriage with all the other people. hmmm. maybe not. i don't think i'll even make the effort to sit down. When she's not there i usually stand from Laveton to Flinders.

I bought an imitation Barbie from work the other day. she comes with a pink and blue mullet do, a guitar, walkman and turntable. she's only $2 but i don't know why people don't buy her. i've named her Grunge Betty. i might get some photos up. yes. last week of school. everyone's going somewhere or have already gone. and i just want to get to Highpoint. i haven't been to highpoint in sooooo long. heh. apparently they have checked ties on sale for $10. yah! my Mighty Mighty Bosstones/Ska compilation just finished burning itself! everyone love Catch 22. augh! and i hate my alarm clock and its dead batteries. it was meant to wake me up at midnight so i could listen to The Not So Sensible Ska Show on PBS. it never did, and missed my train in the morning. i've been meaning to listen to the show for weeks. i'm burning this Pulp/Dandy Warhols next. Pulp used to be one of those bands that i never got. but their album has really grown on me. very pretty and sleepy songs. i really like track 5 off We Love Life album. i returned the cd to the library so i lost the track listings. same for the MMB. i'm cheap.

ooooo! i've just been repeatedly watching Willy Wonka for the last week. and look what i found on sparkle_frog's page!

Which Willy Wonka character are you?
made by galaxybounce
the movie seemed a lot better when i was little. the effects and over all quality of the movie is pretty cruddy. they only spent $3m on it. it was meant to promote the Wonka Bar that a company wanted to bring out at the same time. but apparently the bars weren't that good and all of them melted before the movie was released. and they had one of those where are they now segment at the end. and Veruca is a qualified fitness instructor and Charlie Bucket became a vet. i love the scene where they are on the boat in the chocolate river and Wonka starts singing this freaky little song. i think it's Marilyn Manson's favourite scene too. I even think he's filmed the scene with him as Wonka. My favourite character would have to be Mr. Turkentine, the teacher. ooh and i love the skirt that Veruca's wearing when she wins the ticket. I want one now!

The US intersate highway system requires that 1 in every 5 miles of highway must be straight. In war times these sections are to be used as airstrips.

me: I'm so hip i can't see over my pelvis boy behind counter: huh? (gives a look to the girl next to him) yeah i got my copy of estrangler's the tuation today! i won the race! and it's so good. even though i'm not smart, witty or satirical enough to understand all the clever little jokes in it. i don't know what julz is going on about when she said it was totally uninspired and how crap it was. i'm just loving it so much. "perforation is a rip-off" i'm still laughing very hard. and i got a mention (or 2 i dunno). what's froody? and Julz you forgot to mention Daniel our "H" guy for giving us free food.
